  37. fine.  You also can install on a system with a single diskette drive and no hard
  38. disk.

  182.  VIM stands for VIrtual Machine.  The program is an interpreter whose language
  183.  is 8088 machine code extended with the real-mode instructions of an 80286,
  184.  with provisions to simulate and/or allow access to the hardware of an XT or
  185.  AT in an addressing space independent of the normal hardware.

  187.  VIM was created because a program gone wrong can, and usually will, take out
  188.  everything it can, including the interrupt vector table.  This renders even
  189.  debuggers that use NMI (Non-Maskable Interrupt) hardware useless.  The
  190.  hardware solution to this problem is either a logic analyzer or an in-circuit
  191.  emulator, both of which are very expensive and require hardware attachments to
  192.  the system under test.  VIM, on the other hand, presents a simple software
  193.  solution with most of the power of complex hardware.

  276.      This is a set of utilities that allows the user to capture the contents of
  277. the rom sets in either the PC or the AT.  It allows the content of the rom to be
  278. written to a file called xtrom for the XT or atrom for the AT.  A utility called
  279. romsplit is provided for the AT that allows the atrom file to be split into two
  280. files that represent the even and odd bytes and which are called tempeven and
  281. tempodd, respectively.  Note that this is not necessary for the XT.  Another
  282. utility called lsplit is provided to allow the large files produced by romsav to
  283. be split into files that will fit into the desired destination eproms.  For prom
  284. burners that accept data format in the Motorola S record format, a utility
  285. called binex is provided that converts a binary file into standard S record

  329. program is for you. Just type its name, NLOFF.COM, at the MS-DOS prompt, and the
  330. DWP-410 will stop ignore the extra linefeed sent out by most non-Tandy software
  331. (in a CR/linefeed combination). Once executed, all the linefeeds in a
  332. CR/linefeed combination will be suppressed, regardless of which software is in
